Hello, guest
Name: Abigail  •  Title: Skull and Bones  •  Date posted: 02/27/07 21:01
Q: I had no idea that the skull and bones symbol was linked to Christianity. I wonder if it was found on one of the tombs or ossuaries, either in this discovery or others?

A: Well from what I understood about the Skull and Bones it was a symbol of the Jesuit Order. The Order of Jesus.

A: Hmm, and I thought it was the Masonic initiation group for Illuminati in the Ivy League Schools...

A: Yes its the symbol of the Yale Skull and Bones group because they are a group out of germany. In the "tomb" at yale they have Nazi memorabilia silverware, uniforms and such. Remember that the Nazi SS used the Skull and Bones on their helmets. Jesuit Priests were active members of the SS order. I explained some of this in the general forums in more detail.

A: The skull and large bone is what you would find when you opened the osuary, it would be in the lid part, and the other fragments and smaller bones would be in the base.

The skull and bones symbol can also be found on the graves of some of the knights templars.

Does anyone read these articles?

A: The skull and bones symbol has nothing to do with Freemasonry. The skull was and is a common gravesite graphic death symbol. Crossed bones within a casket can mean that the deceased was a Christian (but not necessarily). Christians not uncommonly cross the arms of a body across the chest as a representation of the cross. In ancient times, leg bones of a Christian were often crossed in this manner. On a Templar building of any type, crossed bones would be a Christian death symbol, as Knights Templar are required to be Christians. The skull and crossed bones together, though, are not Templar.

A: The X symbol in Africa (Adinkrahene) means, God Cannot Die, so I cannot Die. It is a warrior symbol of fearlessness in face of death.

I-n- Ethiopian initiatic warrior societies, even primitive ones have a reed X going over chest, and after ritual is over, the X is removed with the teeth (not using hands) to signify transcendence over fear/immortal state of mind.

It is also seen the crook and flails of Egyptian Pharaohs, as well as the Isis Quaternity.

Th-e- eastern mysticism behind crook and flails crossing is to be beyond "craving and aversion" which is a state of enlightenment.

The 16TH Karmapa and Tantric Buddhism also use this symbolism

The- karmapas are known as "knowers of the 3 times: past present future" and so beyond dualities (crossed over chest).

Skull and Crossbones has been associated with Herakles (Sacraficial King Cults) going all the way back 17000 years. See Bran the Blessed in wiki entry too for oracular skull.

A: When the Knights Templars were disbanded the survivors escaped and adapted the skull and cross bones as the Jolly Rodger of pirate fame.Maybe they colonized the Carribean or other pirate realms. The X in the Runic means Gebo--blessings and generosity. The skulls could have something to do with the Crystal skull legends. The three skulls found in the triangle pattern could have been the heads of state that were important enough for the Templars to bring to the Golgotha burial site.Placing them in a triangular pattern was ritualistic and pointed to the pyramid and something of a mystery that might still be there to dig up.Maybe they knew the Secret all along. If the skulls could just speak what tales they could tell us.

A: I don't know of any authentic examples of a skull and bones featuring on a Templar artefact. There are graves around the Templar chapel at Temple near Rosslyn, Midlothain which bear the symbol, but these date from at least three centuries after the suppression of the Knights Templar. (Masonic symbols are also found on some of these graves). TempleChurch London has green men heads above the Norman door, sprouting four plumes of foliage from their mouths - and in their weathered state could be mistaken for skulls and bones. This is not so, however. The skull and bones was a sign used by Masonic Templars, but not by the medieval knights they claimed as their descendants.

It seems to be a myth that Templar ships flew the Jolly Roger. If they flew any flag it would probably have been the black and white ensign Beauseant, or else a red and white St George flag. I don't know where the story of the Templars and the skull and bones flag originates, but it appears without a reference in Knight and Lomas' 'The Hiram Key', and also in the books by Andrew Sinclair. Sinclair seems also to be the source for the idea of the Templars being buried in a dismembered state. I don't think that claim is true either.

The skull is a common attribute of the penitent Mary Magdalene, incidentally. Sometimes on late medieval Crucifixion scenes she is shown in proximity to the skull of Adam, at the base of the cross. Sometimes she was shown as a hermit, contemplating the skull. Her own skull is still venerated in St Maxinin in Provence.
