Q: The bible doesn't specifically state that Jesus drank wine, but Jesus implied in drinking wine to his disciples in the Last supper.

A: Wine and water were two standard beverages in the ancient world and the grape was cultivated long before it actually reached Europe by way of Greece and Rome.So was unlevened bread and many other niceties like spices.

A: Jesus drank wine - though some Christian denominations think otherwise as for them any alcohol is a big sin, and so claim Jesus drank grape juice, not wine.

But then, why is there this in the Bible:
Luke 7:32-34 (New International Version)
"They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling out to each other: 'We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not cry.' For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, 'He has a demon.' The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, 'Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners."

Why would they ridicule Jesus and call him a drunkard if he didn't drink alcohol?

And Jesus states that he did come 'eating and drinking'; he doesn't deny drinking for himself - only for his cousin John the Baptist, because John didn't drink wine.

It was predicted ahead of time in the Bible that John the Baptist wouldn't drink - so if Jesus wasn't going to drink wine in his lifetime, then why isn't the prediction made for him as well?:
Luke 1:13-15
"But the angel said to him: 'Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to give him the name John. He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth, for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even from birth."

Then there's Jesus' first miracle - turning water into wine at the wedding in Cana. Why would he do this if he didn't drink and/or was against drinking wine/alcohol? His mother Mary isn't concerned that the guests are drinking wine, she's only worried because they've run out of wine! You think any teetotalling Southern Baptist would care if people at a wedding ran out of wine? Oh no, they'd say it was a sign from God to repent and quit drinking the devil's drink or something!

John 2:3
When the wine was gone, Jesus' mother said to him, "They have no more wine."

Here's a quote for those fundamentalist teetotallers who think any drinking of alcohol is a sin:
1 Timothy 5:23
"Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses."

And to close this post:
Genesis 27:28
"May God give you of heaven's dew and of earth's richness— an abundance of grain and new wine."
