Title: Jewish Law trumps Christian Tradition •

Q: I think what many people are overlooking is that Jesus and his family were Jews, not Christians. The symbols and belief in his resurection came much later--after his death and buriel. There would be no pictures over his tomb, as that violates Jewish Law (see the Ten Commandments) but it might be a geometric symbol which was allowed.
I like one suggestion that it is a compass and circle created by a compass, yet that too violates the letter of the law. Perhaps the "chevron" is a design created by a square and the circle is a design created by a compass. This would fit in the Masonic tradition of a compass and square to identify a Master.
