Q: In the center part of the book is a diagram drawn by Shimon Gibson in 1980. It shows the 10 ossuaries in their niches.

There are 2 each in three niches, one in one niche, and three in another niche.

Does anyone here know which is which?

A: Hi,CanuckChick,
In 1980 when these drawings were done the archeologists had very little time to study this Tomb.Nine of the ossuaries were catalogued and stored in the ware house.One--the James ossuary was stolen. It's because of the inscription and ensuing investigation that they traced where it came from then found the other ossuaries which changed history and possibly some religious views.I wish they had more time to study this find.It almost went unnoticed.

A: Greetings Panluna! Thanks for the info.

But, I was wondering about the placement of the ossuaries in the niches.

e.g. Whose names were on the three found in one niche?

A: Four of the ossuaries were unmarked. Are you doing a critical review? In case you want to know I cried for several days after I finished the book.It made me really sad to think about what happened to them. The last paraghraph in the book is the saddest one I have ever read.
