Q: This is nothing more than liberals at their best. Liberals believe that man is supreme, and thus must find a way to remove God. The liberal belief of man's supremacy is evidenced in the promotion of their own brand of religion, ENVIRONMENTALISM, and their belief in man's right/ability to choose life or death of unborn children. The discovery channel is an ideal partner in all of these lies and half-truths, as they see to it to further the environmentalist religion by mentioning global warming like it has gone past the theory stage, and straight into law, every chance they get. Who is mediating the after show tomorrow? Ted Koppel, known liberal host of Nightline, a show to further push the liberal agenda. You have proven nothing. I pray to the Lord Jesus Christ, that you people will be exposed for manipulating this story the way that you have. This story is presented exactly like every nightly news piece mentioning the president or the war in Iraq, falsely, with only one side ot the story, not all of the facts, and the irrefutable experts. For those of you out there who are weak in faith, Jesus is real, he is perfect, he never lied, he did rise from his grave, and he is God. Be strong, as the Bible foretells of such blasphemous trials and situations. God loves us all.

A: Who are you to judge...Your God should be disappointed in you as it is his job to judge others not your...and that is in the bible. Live and let live...mind your own and you should be fine!

A: Oh yeah, there is an error in your reply OpenMinded, there is only ONE(1) God. So when you say "your God," know that he is the ONLY God, and you either believe in him, or you do not believe in God.

A: Oh here we go with the liberal bullshit again. Religion is for the uneducated. Everything the bibles says was originally a pagan tradition. Jesus was not born on December 25th, the earth is not 6000 years old, and the bible is full of mistakes. Conservatives just bitch every chance they get. God would not want you to go to Iraq and kill everything that moves. Nor would he want stem cell research to be banned. Every time science finds a way to help mankind, you religious people think of so dumb fuck reason it shouldn't happen. And you can't even begin to say that the media is 100% liberal. We have Fox news network so out of ideas that they are trying to exploit Obama for smoking cigarettes. Meanwhile dick Cheney goes around and shoots people. Well, Democrats run the house, and soon the presidency. And i hope your taxes go up.

A: Little Brother, God loves us all in every language, religion, cosmology and imaginable form or concept that we can grasp. Transform your resentment to acceptance, your labels of differences to celebrations of similarities. Renounce your alegiance to god club loyalty and get the big idea: Your one way mentality is unatural, abusive and anachronistic. We are One with a common cosmology. Make up and revere any story you want to describe the bigness of your ecstasy for existence and hold it as just one of untold trillions of others that honor the Glory of God. Like a fish swimming through water, looking for water, wake up to something bigger than religious bias..you know, like Jesus of Nazareth. It's All good and it's All God.

A: I missed listening to druggie Rush this week. Reading your forum post out loud with as much arrogance as I could muster gave me that special feeling only right-wing talking points can provide.
Thanks for the cool-aide.

A: Believer, you are much too far in the other direction which is also an unhealthy extreme. IMO any extremist beliefs are potentially dangerous! That's how wars start - look at the middle-east, or Northern Ireland - all over extreme beliefs! Anger begets more anger.
Don't be so fast to judge or label. I know plenty of "liberals" who do not hold themselves supreme or above God, myself included. You are judging, which Christ absolutely taught us not to do: Judge not lest ye be judged. Wise people, including most spiritual masters tell us moderation is always best. Find the middle road, where there is no wrong or right, it just IS, and all is OK.
Your faith is between you and God alone, nobody else's business, so it shouldn't concern you what anybody else's religion/faith is - that's between them and God, also.
Yes God love us all, for we are all God's children, no matter what we choose to believe. That's what's important, and it's Christ's golden rule: Love your neighbor as you love yourself. Even harder to learn and practice: Love your enemy. Why? Because it makes one take a hard look at oneself in the mirror to, to recognize one's own faults, and to realize the "enemy" is in truth one's brother, just a different version of him- or herself. The world would be truly BORING if we were all exactly alike, now wouldn't it? Why do you think God made us all so different - so we can learn to appreciate, enjoy and honor our differences!
Why not relax, and be at peace knowing God will take care of any judgment if He deems it's needed in the hereafter?
Spewing venom and anger doesn't help one bit, it only stirs the hornet's nest. Believer, relax and just let it all go - and let God, as they say, and perhaps then you'll find peace. Not sometime in the future, but right now.
Herby, I like what you say. "It's all good and it's all God." God is the All that contains All, including all of humanity. So we're all part of and one with God. Behind our beliefs and our human faces (facades/illusions!) we are all SPIRIT. Brothers and sisters. AMEN!! So why the heck are people at each others' throats just because they perceive things differently???
Blessings, Love and Light to all.

A: I am a Republican and people like you are ruining the party and are making us look like uneducated idiots. If people truly followed the teachings of Jesus we would not be in Iraq. We would also take care of the planet he gave to us. We would never bomb an abortion clinic and we would never allow a convicted murderer or anyone else to be put to death. This is why religion and politics do not mix b/c in order for it to fit our party we have to "cherry pick" what we follow (I am beginning to hate this term but it happens to fit). Do you know that Jerry Fallwell (I have no idea if I spelled that correctly) is backing Newt? What is wrong with this picture? Bringing politics into this discussion is just bad. Why have we opened the door to hypocrits? What happened to keeping government small and taxes low? Our government is not supposed to be made solely of fundamentalist Christians. We left the other country for religious freedom. I consider myself to be a religious person. I am pround Roman Catholic but I understand that we have crossed the line here.

A: Red - He didn't say he was Republican but I am making an educated guess due to his rant against liberals. I realize that our country has a two party (or more) system for a reason and I miss the days when we could disagree but not hate each other. Unfortunately, I cannot blame liberals for hating us when the religious right has taken over our party. Why does a discussion and/or debate about Jesus have to be political. True followers of Jesus should have issues with each party and in recognizing this they should seperate their religion and their politics. How can this "Believer" associate the Discovery Channel and their program to "choosing the life or death of unborn children"? I just do not understand this kind of thinking. As far as global warning, even our Republican President finally acknowledged that it has gone past the theory stage. As far as stating that Jesus never lied - who is saying that he did? Man may have misrepresented him. The story may be off a little but no one is saying that he lied. As far as concluding that some people are weak in faith, believing in something different or believing that we haven't been told the entire story is not weak in faith. We are simply seeking the knowledge that may have been left out or misrepresented. Oh and I LOVE the nightly news remark. Tucker Carlson is on MSNBC every weekday at 4 and 6 PM. He is far from a liberal (although he does not believe or defend in the war so "Believer" will probably think he has an agenda). Can you imagine that? Tucker Carlson having a liberal agenda? Hehehehe...Anyway, Fox News is always on. "Believer" should be happy with that BS. Sorry for the rant. I just feel like I am beating my head against a wall. I shouldn't judge "Believer" but this one just really got to me. They have taken over the party that I have loved. Ronald Reagan is a hero to me but I do wish he didn't open the door to these people. I know that he wanted them to have a say and be a part of the system but they have now taken advantage of it and have taken over. Now I am talking about politics when I shouldn't be so I will stop. "Believer's" post just really hit a nerve. Thanks for listening :)

A: Samepstein.....
I know alot of conservatives that feel the same way. Ill admit im in the middle alot of times. There are conservative issues which make excellent sense and some that quite frankly are idiotic. Same goes for the liberals. There are issues they hold that are very logical, and there are some that are Quite frankly idiotic.
That bieng said, I think the political/ religious situation in this country has truely polarized. I talk to people from outside the country and they say "wtf is going on over there?" Anyway, I think it is peaking. The fundementalists would not believe if you told them that their 'politico/ religo philosophy is a relatively new thing. They think it goes all the way back to Jesus. It does not, and was born in the 1920's in the U.S. Anyone can google it. The "founding fathers" they claim ,thought like themselves. They were in fact Social christains that at the time were considered "liberal" to the current standards of the catholic church.
The idea of separation of church and state was a very liberal view at the time.
They have Hi-jacked your party, but it is temporary I think. It was bound to peak, and got a head of steam building in the 80's when the likes of Falwell, Roberston ect... began voiceing opposition to the cultural war of the 60's. Those hippies were getting older and began to get dicision makeing positions, and it just scared the hell out of alot of conservitives.
The Clinton years were probably the peak of that power politically, and of course it's over. It was replaced by radical opposition and we are seeing the fruits of their philosophy daily in the way of body bags, arrogance, and disrespect from the world.
Believer's post is a CARBON COPY of what he was told, probably from the radio, maybe a book that he was told to buy from the radio. Anyway, I hear EXACTLY the same things from person to person. In these people there are ABSOLUTELY NO thought of their own. It reads like a manuscript, and they are all reading from the same page. This can be only due to one possibility. These people can not for whatever reason trust themselves to question from their own esteem. Probably because they do not have much esteem. Maybe their mother beat them who knows...... But one thing is for sure; there are plenty off so called "ordained' looking for folks like that. They are controlable, they will buy your book, and VOTE the way you tell them to and will not question.
It's kinda of scary in a way, because the white house is being operated on this basis as we speak, and other christain nations that have been our allies in the past are saying WTF??
Please Excuse the abbrieviated naughty word, But that's what the world is saying .... Literally.......

A: I remember when being a “conservative republican” was viewed with contempt and being a “liberal democrat” was the “in thing”. “Conservative” was the “dirty word” then. Actually, the older conservative republicans of this era were the liberal democracies of another. Sorry, I apologize but I just couldn’t help myself.

A: I think both liberal and conservative are going to be dirty words. It's almost like a Republican is different from a Conservative and a liberal is different from a Democrat. I am guilty of this too. When I think of Republican I think of Ronald Reagan. When I think of Conservative I think of Tom DeLay (yuck)!!! Bill Clinton is a Democrat to me and Howard Dean (funny but extreme) is a Liberal. I wonder if they will eventually become different parties? Hmmm...now look at us bringing politics into this discussion...well "Believer" started it ;) I really hope the Christian right stays home in 2008 even if it means not winning. It is very scary how other countries are seeing us. We are fighting extremists but we are and/or becomming an extremist nation ourselves.
I think the people who feel this tomb may be a threat or just simply refuse to believe its possiblilites grew up with super strict, by the book Pastors and/or Priests. Maybe that is why I can see this in a different way b/c my priest was the exact opposit. The man married my husband and I in a church with a Jewish Cantor. He baptized our daughter and allowed my husband's brother (who is Jewish) to be her Godfather. He is so quick to focus on the similiarities of our faiths instead of the differences. He is just such a wonderful man and I wish the church would recruit more of his kind. The Cantor was absolutely wonderful as well. The woman stood under a crucifix and called the church a holy place. Can you imagine? Sorry for the bio but it is the only way I can explain how wonderful the church can be. Having an open-minded person teaching your faith makes a huge difference. He acts like Jesus instead of preaching about him. If the fundamentalists and the close-minded Catholics worked this way the tomb would be an exciting find to everyone.
