Q: In the Mandaean writings they have alot of info on a *MARYAI* and her conversion and baptism by John the Baptist. She became a priest and teacher of sorts. In light of what was found on the ossuary - "Mariamne known as the Master". I find it curious. I encourage anyone interested to read the material belonging to the Mandaeans. Especially the book of John the Baptist and the Maryai material. It is amazing!

A: Indeed, and if you check out the Naassenes' website you will find more about Miryai and Jesus -- and a very good and complete article on Gnosticism in general. What they said was that Miryai's family was from Egypt and being rich, her father became a Pharisee. She heard Jesus speak and knew it was the true teaching and left her father and home, renouncing judaism -- THAT angered her father who swore revenge on Jesus for (1) taking his daughter, and (2) teaching against the judaic principles.
By the way, they could not just walk right up an arrest Jesus as he had a twin (Didymus Judas Thomas) and they had to pay the Judas we all know about to point Yeshua out (so as not to arrest Thomas by mistake).
Interesting, eh?
You're right, John the Baptist was leader of the Nazorean Essenes = Naassenes) which is why HE baptised/anointed both Jesus and Mary -- if he could do that, how much connection with the Father of Light did he have??!! (That's why Leonardo DaVinci and others considered him THE messiah and due to a very large following, he was a threat to Herod... so he was removed. Hence the sign of the upraised forefinger in so many
paintings by those who knew the secret...refers to John as the One.)
My understanding is that the ossuary "Judah son of Jesus" was an infant that died and that his daughter Sara made it to France with several Marys, Joseph of Arimathea, etc -- and this was the origin of the Black Virgin statues in Europe and Ukranian areas -- they venerated HER, not the Catholic Church virgin (who wasn't a virgin)... and of course that leads to
Dan Brown and Fr. Berenger Saunier and what he found that caused him to vilify the Catholic Church in his humble church...
This river runs very deep and there are some unexpected boulders, and the tie-ins with the Catholic Church and the Templars, and the Cathars, and the Inquisition, etc -- it all fits. And is not a pretty picture.
The Naassene website is: The Holy Order of O:N:E: and the url is:
http://essenes.net/Naaseenes.html
... be sure to look at the bottom of the page and click on Jesus button-- goes to the Yeshu-Ziwa page... scroll 'way down and take a serious look at the heading Various Articles and the 15-article document (long but very readable) on the "Orthodox Suppression of Original Christianity" -- this will knock your socks off. I thought articles (chapters) III, V and X really
explain what is going on in this world -- even today.
Enjoy.

A: THANKS SO MUCH JAYBO! Excellent material! I totally agree that there is much in the Naasene/Mandaean/Elkasite writings to make us question what we *think* we know about Christianity. I have studied this material for about 20 years now and I am STILL amazed by it! Take care now friend we navigate rough waters.

A: Interesting stuff however Mariamne \ Martha (Mariamne and Martha) is considered a much more believable translation. It is very difficult to translate "\" as "known as" it is however quite believable when you translate it as Mariamne\Martha and consider two sets of bones in the ossuary.

A: Schwar3Kat, That is Very interesting! Did they put two people's bones in one ossuary? I know nothing of the customs of burial in that time and area. We do have reason to think of the Biblical sisters Mary and Martha in Bethany. I am VERY curious who is REALLY in that ossuary! Hopefully time will tell. Take care now.

It is highly likely that there were two bodies. There were 17 bodies in the10 ossuaries although I can't find references to how many were in that ossuary. One name is the diminutive form, so it is quite likely that there was a mother and daughter in the ossuary. None of this is proof though just speculation.

A: Schwar3Kat, That is VERY interesting about the 17 bodies in the 10 ossuaries! And now that the bones have supposedly been properly buried we may never know who all they were. What a shame! You just might be correct on that mother and daughter speculation Schwar3Kat. I hope that they will present much more evidence on this in the future. Take care now.

Oops I need to correct something. I need to check my sources more carefully.
The number of sets of bones in the ossuaries is only en estimate based on similar finds where in average there were 1.7 bodies per ossuary. (Kloner in Antiquot 1996).

A: Hey Schwar3Kat, That is an honest mistake. [smile] I am still astounded that more than 1 would be in there! I wish we could have gotten some dna from the remains. Maybe they can still find some in the ossuaries. So much more research needs to be done on this discovery. Take care now.
