Q: The movie is set to air this Sunday on the Discovery Channel at 9 (EST). I am really excited to see this documentary as what I've seen from this site is incredible. A lot of research has definately gone into this.

A: Oh really? What research? All that we've established was what we already knew...

1 We have a tomb of an upper class family who lived in first century Jerusalem. Jesus' family does not fit the rich or Jerusalem part of this equation.

2. We have names, the most common names of first century Jews on these ossuaries. That's like 200 years from now seeing a Martha and George buried near each other and claiming it's the first President of the United States just on a first name.

3. We have DNA evidence to connect some people in the tomb? Whoopteedo. Of course their related, it's a family tomb. You still have to prove what family it is. And it isn't Jesus.

The movie is about as well researched as The Da Vinci Code, and much more boring.

A: I think you should look at the evidence again before discounting it so wholeheartedly. The probability of having the names found in the Jesus tomb all together is extremely rare. Wouldn't you think there would be a good chance of it being the Bushes if they found those names together, why wouldn't it be?

A: I agree with Abigail...The chance of that happening is extremely rare which hightens the fact that it could be true..In all honesty noone knows and noone will ever know..It's all a matter of faith..What you believe or maybe what you grew up around.. There is no evidence for or against Christ...so this debate is useless but I will take on anyone who wants to... :P

A: Hey followingchrist82:

Have you seen the documentary? How would you know if it's boring? Better yet.... If you find it so boring...well, then DON'T WATCH IT!

I think we are all grown people that can make our own decisions, Aren't we?

A: Just wanted to say that I LOVED this documentary/docudrama! It's quite provocative to hypothosize about the possiblity of this being the Jesus family tomb, and quite needed in our society! It's important that we have rational, logical discussions about all faiths and their inceptions. I am thrilled that this documentary will cause folks to look at christianity without its supernatural elements. It doesn't NEED the supernatural elements to be a beautiful faith that feeds the spiritual needs of millions of people.

I've spent most of my adult life really turned off by mainstream faiths because of their wild supernatural claims (born to a virgin, risen from death, full body ascension, son of God or more often God in human form, must accept as personal savior or else a damnation afterlife, the rapture, etc...). The thought of Jesus being a MAN with a message of love, hope, and charity is much more compelling.
