A: No. Jews had more than one name at the time. For example, Matthew was called Levi and Clopas was also called Cleopus and Alphaeus.

A: The times that the "gospels" are based on... well the fact is that there where so many languages spoken in that area at the time, Aramaic, Greek, Latin and others... The name game was on... For example, who we call James the Lesser today..was Ya'acov as well as Iacov, where in the world does the "current" name James comes from? Who knows... I believe that a huge Hellenization and then the translation over translation from one language to another and another, well, the names had been "translated" when they should have never been translated. That's why we encounter the name game that we have today...

A: Yeshua had a total of 6 siblings...
Brothers
Ya'cov - We call him now James and sometimes Jacob
Shimon - We call him Simon or Peter (but not that one...not St. Peter)
Judah - We call him Mattew (hmmm Matya, interesting... Did anyone know that his name as called by Yeshua was, Dydimus Judah Te-moh [Tomas])
Jos'e - Hmmm guess what we call him, Joses
Sisters
Maria Salome
Maria Martha
The ladies name are not known to me in their original languages (Aramic) and anyway, translations over translations, the names have just lost all originality.

A: I'm not aware of 'Maria Salome' and 'Maria Martha'. Where does that info come from?
I'm aware of Mary (in English, obviously) and Salome as his sisters.
