Hello, guest
Name: Cadence  •  Title: Ted Koepple an Embarrassment  •  Date posted: 03/06/07 12:41
Q: I was appalled by Koepple's unprofessional behavior on the post-show interview. He acted in a way quite typical of the political religious right in the USA that been frighteningly bent on squashing the advancement of the truth. The interview appeared more like an Inquisition and I was waiting for them to bring out the wood and fire. They should truly be ashamed of themselves since people across the globe watched this interview. My friends in Europe observed the same behavior, so I am not alone. One lady from Austria said it reminded her of a time they no longer speak of.

A: Ya Know????

Man, I thought the same thing myself listening to him giving this guy what -for. Instead of asking him intelligent questions about the film and the evidence, Koepple went directly for the throat. He was VERY unprofessional for a journalist, but that is happening more and more these days. That's part of the reason why there is so much confusion in the world, because the people who report on the world's happenings are not being impartial in their reporting and injecting their own feelings, opinions, and beliefs into it. What ever happened to "Just the facts, Ma'am?"

A: Look at who owns the media these days and you may discover exactly why these reporters are behaving in this way!

A: I completely agree- we were looking forward to their being a compelling discussing, but it seemed more like a brow beating. The fellows involved with this documentary kept having to repeat themselves I think12 times; that the purpose of this was for discussion and to get people talking. I couldn't believe when Ted Koepple interrupted the guy once and said "You had an hour, now it's our turn" or words to that affect.

A: I too agree. I thought Ted Koppel was extremely biased. But I will give him the benefit of the doubt. He had very little time to prepare for this follow up. BTW. I have come to the conclusion that simcha is on to something here, only time will tell. It doesn't surprise me that the press is all over exploiting the opposite view. and misguiding the public with miss information from scholars and others who have approached this with considerable bias. Just my humble opinion. If you are interested in an unbiased look at this you can log onto James tabor's blog.

A: Gee I wonder why Ted was so critical.

It's not like Simcha circumvented the responsible approach for scientific study like peer reveiw and went directly to the uneducated laypeople to present his "findings" in a sensationalisit format.

It's not like Simcha and Cameron have purposely withheld critical statistical data from their statistician. It's not like Simcha and company then took that "data" and reported it as being "conclusive to the odds of 600:1 when the sample size was only 1000 names.

It's not like Simcha would deliberately mislead the public and leave out critical information on the statistics, other things in the tomb, or the James Ossuary hoax.

It's not like Simcha and company would hire a well known antiquities forger to pose as one of his "experts". Not like that same guy is on trial for antiquities forgery of the James Ossuary and even if that he is somehow miraculously found innocent of that crime, its not like he didnt have a warehouse full of forged relics and seals that the police found.

It's not like credible archaeologists and scientists all over the world who have nothing to gain or lose from this case are callling out Simcha and company as the hoaxters they are.

Oh wait... yes it is.

Occams Razor: Giant conspiracy theory spanning all of the archaeological community, very reputable organizations and other scientists and media outlets across the globe???

Or people with very questionable credibility and huge dollars to be made off sensational media release (Amazon their book is top 5 lol)? Which is more likely???

On an unrelated note, by the way, I have this really cool work at home opportunity if anyone is interested. All you have to do is stuff envelopes and you can make like $3,000 a week!

I'm surprised all of you who put so much faith in this

A: Not necessarily putting faith in this. moreover just giving it time to go thru the propper chanels. basically giving it time is the responsible thing to do rather than critisize based on the evidence at hande, which is changing daily. Many more tests of this need be done to see if it can hold up.I believe keeping the door opened will get to the bottom of this quicker. Yes it was dramtic( I liked that) , yes they wanted to make money, yes yes yes! there still is some worthinees to persuing this I believe
Name: sadinoel  •  Date: 03/20/07 21:42
A: People should pursue it I agree... but it's not very compelling at this moment.

Add to that mix the HUGE credibility issues of those involved and the methods used (and not used) and this whole thing starts to look pretty fishy.

Yet people here are all just foaming at the mouth to accept as fact anything Simcha puts forth. Just like people accuse Christians of accepting what their grandparents told them without investigating. Everyone is on a different side of the same boat here imo.

You seem reasonable at least.

Good Luck
