A: Hello, Panluna, Bedmidbar 24:17 does indicate a physical messiah at the end of time [Mashiach ben Dovid]. But keep in mind one must ascertained or define as to the purpose of a messiah first, keeping everything in its proper context, in order to validate a possible new covenant connection. It is difficult to do with other thoughts already in place. One of the biggest problems or temptations when studying and reading is to take verses out of context or what I refer to as contextual elimination to bring about a connection. This can bring a great many misunderstandings and grevious errors. There are other old testament verses that have been adopted to fit a messiah, through word changes etc. and are misapplied, like Isaiah 53 as an example.

A: Would it be at all possible to get a copy of the original text of the Old Testament before it was changed to fit the modern versions or suit the needs of the Christians?I would like to go to the source.Does the word messiah really mean Saviour of all humanity or was it meant to re-establish the Davidic claim to rulership at that time to overthrow the Roman Empire? The title"E l " was changed to LORD.I don't read Hebrew but it would be nice to be able to read in English the original texts as written in the pre-Jesus era.

A: The Greek Septuaguint is a copy, but not reliable, neither is Josephus history. The best and easiest ones are the; Stone edition of the "Tanach"
[ includes the prophets and writtings ], the "Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan Torah," and the "Sforno" Torah, these are the best to learn from. There are many, but these would be a good start. The Messiah is to redeem the world, hence the meaning is "redeemer." The Messiah will be a physical world ruler or king, a direct blood descendent, from the house of Dovid. This has not yet occurred . Here is a mystery, Messsiah ben Yosef is the one in Daniel, then comes Messiah ben Dovid. You may remember King Cyrus and Darius were called messiahs that assisted in bringing back the Jewish people to their homeland. So the word messiah can be general in meaning or specific in meaning. If specific, then there are certain pertinent criteria that have to met or fulfilled without any suspicion or debate. The past messiah in my opinion did not meet any of the criteria, not even beyond a preponderance of evidence.

A: Would you consider that Moses could have been a Messiah?Thank you I will see if I can find the books mentioned.

A: Generally speaking, Moshe was on a spiritually high level and was given a specific mission for the Jewish people at hand. He was to create a nation of priests [Israel] to represent to the world the proper example of worshipping G_d. The Messiah on the other hand will be king over the entire world and will go global by stopping wars, upholding peace, and expose to the entire world the fallacies of other beliefs and bring the world to the true worship of G_d and will reign in Yerushalyam, the capitol of the nation of priests. So there is a connection between Moshe and the Messiah. Moshe set the foundation in place and activated it within Israel, the Messiah ben Dovid will put the icing on the cake as it were and expand the activation throughout the world.

Sadly the concept of freely available and open source came a couple of millennia too late. :)
And about that second coming of Jesus or the Messiah... What if they actually discover enough DNA to clone the man alleged to be Jesus of Nazareth and actually clone him? The pope might need a new prescription, but I'd be converting to christianity in case this Jesus 2.0 spoke fluent Aramaic at age one and a half.

A: If they were able to clone Jesus I think only his physical traits would be apparent.Language is learned.Where in the New Testament does it mention the 2nd coming? And what are the requirements to identify this event?Do we need proof to convert?Or should we be of the faithful now---when it counts?

A: On the subject of Language and Wisdom...
LANGUAGE IS A LIE
A flower half-denied
If thy would rather truth
Keep tooth and tooth together sooth
The tongue's a wild and wily one
Beyond the best intent
Let connotative figurements
Lighten up you messages
Oh and poems pretending rigour
'Tis not unlike a fridge on fire
A devil's left arm and leg
This imp cannot use to assuage
The poet who would be but honest
Must crush a half of him
And spin in ruin gripless
A rehab most disastrous
A quiet collapseth
On he that would but
Total good

A: Are there any people in the Middle East or any where in this world today who still speak Aramaic on a daily basis as their native language? And where are they?
