Hello, guest
Name: sam  •  Title: WHAT DO BUDDHIST WOMEN GET ON EARTH  •  Date posted: 11/17/11 19:27
Q: V V K , the followings are written by BUDDHISTS, and not by Muslims.
ISLAM PROTECT WOMEN, AND THE ONLY RELIGION THAT CARE FOR THE WELFARE OF THE WOMEN.
IN CHRISTIANITY WOMEN REGARDED AS NOT A PERSON, AND IN YOUR RELIGIONS THE BUDDHIST , WOMEN IS AN OBJECT FOR SEX. THAT IS THE TRUTH.

V V K, DO NOT DENY THIS FACT, IT IS IN FRONT OF YOU WORD BY WORD BY BUDDHISTS

1 - Religion
In Buddhism, the most widely-practiced religion in Thailand, women are viewed as naturally inferior to men. Buddha made clear to his disciples that women were “impure, carnal, and corrupting.”[3] In addition, the type of Buddhism practiced in Thailand outlines ten kinds of wives in its vihaya, or rules for monks.[3] Within these rules, the first three are those "bought for money, those living together voluntarily, those to be enjoyed or used occasionally."[3] Sex with prostitutes is viewed by wives as empty sex, and thus many women would rather have their husbands have meaningless sex with a young girl rather than find a new spouse.[10]
Buddhism does not have strict guidelines on sexual ethics, it is more important within the religion one does not cause destruction and unhappiness. Therefore it is all left to the individual performing such acts to decide which is more beneficial to them, and Buddism supports it.[10]
Religion also affects Thai girls on a personal level. Buddhism prescribes “acceptance and resignation in the face of life’s pain and suffering."[3] in accordance with the Buddhist concept of karma. As a result, many young girls that enter prostitution remain there, believing that providing support for their family in this case through prostitution, will have a better life when reincarnated..............................

2 - Religion
1. In the type of Buddhism practised in Thailand (Buddhism being the predominant religion in Thailand),. Buddha made clear to his disciples that women cannot attain nirvana because women have many social responsibilities (like raising their children etc) and they are physically weak to face hardship. The world would soon come to end if both men and women go in search for enlightenment.”[26] This is also evidenced by the belief that women cannot attain enlightenment, although this view is disputed by other Buddhist scriptures such as the Vinaya Pitaka in the Pali Canon.[27] In addition, the type of Buddhism practised in Thailand outlines ten kinds of wives in its vihaya, or rules for monks.[26] Within these rules, the first three are actually women who can be paid for their services. In present day Thailand, this has manifested itself into an acceptance by wives about prostitution. Sex with prostitutes is viewed by wives as empty sex, and thus women may allow their husbands to have meaningless sex with prostitutes rather than to find a new spouse.
Buddhism also prescribes “acceptance and resignation in the face of life’s pain and suffering",[26] in accordance with belief in karma and expiation of sins from previous lives. Conjecturally, women may choose to believe that suffering as prostitutes is the result of their karma..............................

3 - Dr. Nitet Tinnakul from 1. Chulalongkorn University gives a total of 2.8 million sex workers, including 2 million women, 20,000 adult males and 800,000 minors under the age of 18.[.........

Prostitution had been illegal in Thailand[3] since 1960, when a law was passed under pressure from the United Nations........
In 2003, the Ministry of Justice considered legalising prostitution as an official occupation with health benefits and taxable income and held a public discussion on the topic. Legalisation and regulation was proposed as a means to increase tax revenue, reduce corruption, and improve the situation of the workers.................

4 - PROSTITUTIONP is a staple of the Thai economy and continues to be a prominent occurrence [citation needed] A key difference between adult prostitution and child prostitution is the concept of forced labor. Although many prostitutes are coerced or forced into the sex sector, there is still a degree of freedom or choice when working as one. Children, however, do not have this degree of choice. Thus, “in the case of adults, prostitution could be considered an occupation or a form of work, [but] in the case of children it is a totally unacceptable form of forced labour.”[2] At the same time, a child is far more influenced by their surrounding environment than an adult is. Young girls in Thailand, who make up more than 90% of the child prostitution in the country,[3] are completely at the mercy of their environment. Their culture, religion, economic status.........

Recorded prostitution in Thailand dates back as far as the 14th century, when it was legal and taxed by the government. In the late 18th century and early 19th century, the demand for prostitution rose once again as the immigration of male Chinese men increased dramatically........

Child prostitution in Thailand has become a major problem, and continues to thrive despite being illegal in the country for a variety of reasons

Buddhism also prescribes “acceptance and resignation in the face of life’s pain and suffering",[26] in accordance with belief in karma and expiation of sins from previous lives. Conjecturally, women may choose to believe that suffering as prostitutes is the result of their karma..............................

A: Helo Sam.
One again I always respect whatever you wrote. and never deny it. because I happy to hear both side of one theory, problem or religion. even the religion I follow, If it's anything wrong teaching, i recognize with reason ask or fight to change it , to benefit human being life.
some of your post state that:
1) CHRISTIANITY WOMEN REGARDED AS NOT A PERSON, (please prove it, but I know in Roman Catholic mother Mary is the second important after Jesus)
IN YOUR RELIGIONS THE BUDDHIST , WOMEN IS AN OBJECT FOR SEX. THAT IS THE TRUTH.

V V K, DO NOT DENY THIS FACT, IT IS IN FRONT OF YOU WORD BY WORD BY BUDDHISTS
please provide his or name, so I can look for some more reference , document, to study to find out the percentage of accurately of what they blaim for. (you always said everything must be make sense and logic)

Thailand is called Buddhism country, because most population are Theravada Buddhist But their nation constitution is free of practice with any religion. They the free and opened tourist country since long time ago, so they may develop sex prostitution industry become legally. I do not say that job is good or bad in here, but all about your mention with all showing number sound like more social prostitution for adult and child problem in Thailand than the teaching come from one religion. don't mix up Thai culture and Buddhism (please provide more proof Buddhist women is an object for sex, in a couple more Buddhist countries, like Tibet, Bhutan, Sri Lanka,China, Mongolia, Nepal, Burma, Laos, Sri Lanka, Korea, Japan, and Vietnam etc.
your state that:
2 ) women are viewed as naturally inferior to men. Buddha made clear to his disciples that women were “impure, carnal, and corrupting.”...
Gautama Buddha first ordained women as nuns five years after his enlightenment and five years after first ordaining men into the sangha .because women are just as able as men to achieve enlightenment.
please provide at least a couple verse from Buddha to prove your blaim above
3) ten kinds of wives in its vihaya. There is no Buddhist text name VIHAYA. please provide more accurate name of document. and where it say in text.
(Later academic speculation has raised the question whether a female could become a Buddha or a Bodhisattva. Mahayanists have taken an affirmative position (e.g. the cult of Kwan Yin as a Bodlihisattva who heeds the pleas of those in distress),
in a society which considered male children to be more desirable than female ones, the Buddha held a different view. When King Pasenadi of Kosala, while still an adherent of the Brahmanical religion and thus shared its values, was disappointed that his Queen Mallika bore him a daughter, the Buddha told him: "A woman-child, 0 Lord of men, may prove to be a better offspring than a male" (San. Nik, iii, 2, 6). It is possible to see in this a kind of diplomatic response to prevent the King developing an aversion to his Queen who was a Buddhist, but the sentiment expressed is genuine, and in keeping with the rest of the Buddha's teaching.
proof of the Buddha's utterance (Sam.Nik., 1, 5, 6):

yassa etâdisa.m yâna.m
ittiyâ purisassa va
sa ve etena yânena
nibbanasseva santike ti This is the only vehicle
Be it a woman or be it a man
The one who takes this vehicle
Can reach the peace of Nibbâna

Sex with prostitutes is viewed by wives as empty sex, and thus many women would rather have their husbands have meaningless sex with a young girl rather than find a new spouse.[10]
it is more important within the religion one does not cause destruction and unhappiness. Therefore it is all left to the individual performing such acts to decide which is more beneficial to them, and Buddism supports it.[10] please provide more evidence Buddhism supports it.
Buddhism does not support prostitutes. On the contrary it points out that prostitution is an unwholesome act. Buddhists do not look down upon prostitutes. If they choose to practice dharma, they have an equal, if not better chance to become enlightened.
The Buddha did not look down upon prostitutes. On the contrary he provided opportunity for them to enter the rightful path in the same manner as other. Once he accepted an invitation from Ambapali, a courtesan, for lunch on the next day. After that the Licchavi princes came and offered him an invitation again. He declined as he already accepted an invitation form Ambapali. This courtesan was the same person who later offered him and the Sangha a mango grove for the monks' residence.
Jivaka, the famous physician who attended personally to the Buddha and the Sangha was also born of a prostitute. He was never frowned upon for his birth.
Being a prostitute is not an obstacle to enlightenment if she is willing and diligently practices dharma. In fact, the experience of a prostitute could help her towards enlightenment sooner than otherwise.
You state that:
Thai girls on a personal level. Buddhism prescribes “acceptance and resignation in the face of life’s pain and suffering."[3] in accordance with the Buddhist concept of karma. totall-y- misunderstand about Karma and use it like the excuse for the job they do.
Karma in Buddhism, karma (Pāli kamma) is strictly distinguished from vipāka, meaning "fruit" or "result". Karma is categorized within the group or groups of cause (Pāli hetu) in the chain of cause and effect, where it comprises the elements of "volitional activities" (Pali sankhara) and "action" (Pali bhava). Any action is understood as creating "seeds" in the mind that will sprout into the appropriate result (Pāli vipaka) when met with the right conditions. Most types of karmas, with good or bad results, will keep one within the wheel of samsāra, while others will liberate one to nirvāna.
Karma is one of five categories of causation, known collectively as niyama dhammas, the first being kamma, and the other four being utu (seasons and weather), bīja (heredity, lit. "seed"), chitta (mind) and dhamma (law, in the sense of nature's tendency to perfect).
The Pali term Karma literally means action or doing. Any kind of intentional action whether mental, verbal, or physical, is regarded as Karma. It covers all that is included in the phrase "thought, word and deed". Generally speaking, all good and bad action constitutes Karma. In its ultimate sense Karma means all moral and immoral volition. Involuntary, unintentional or unconscious actions, though technically deeds, do not constitute Karma, because volition, the most important factor in determining Karma, is absent.
The Buddha says:

"I declare, O Bhikkhus, that volition is Karma. Having willed one acts by body, speech, and thought." (Anguttara Nikaya)

Everything that happens here is an effect of a cause or causes and this effect itself is the cause of some other effects. This is the Universal Law of the continuity of individuals and phenomena. For the role of God or Creator, Buddhism substituted the rule of the Law of Karma

so if some create the bad seed they will get the bad result. the job they do like the Cause ,(start new Karma) not like because of their karma so they do the bad job(prostitutes)

for example: the girl like to become prostitutes, then she say God set up her life to be like that. she has to accept it. everything up to God. is that make sense? of course that is wrong excuse for her job.

It is nonsensical to accuse Buddhism of being comfortable with the feudal system. Therefore to get the credit of what you blame for I would like to ask you provide more evidence that link Buddhism fosters prostitution. specially from the source of Buddhist text or Buddha verse.

Thank you for reading.

A: Hi V V K ,

Thank you for your post.

I will answer your question in my next post, after I bring what I read this morning:
The following came from the "SIKH SPECTRUM .COM"
Written by , "ZOYA ZAIDI"

"Devadasi System in Indian Temples "
"Devadasi system is not only exploitation of women, it is the institutionalized exploitation of women; it is the exploitation of Dalits, the lower class of untouchables; it is the religious sanction given to prostitution of helpless economically and socially deprived women; It is the glorification of humiliation of women. Inherent in this system is the fascistic belief that a certain section of human population, the lower caste, is meant to serve the ‘higher caste’s superior men’. Inherent in it is the feudal-lord-temple-priest-nexus, where the priest, already having a psychological hold over the minds of simple people to the point of dictating their way of life, uses his power to give ‘religious sanction’ to the practice by declaring it ‘sacred’, and thus cajole and lure simple minded villagers into this worst form of prostitution.

Devadasi literally means God’s (Dev) female servant (Dasi), where according to the ancient Indian practice, young pre-pubertal girls are ‘married off’, ‘given away’ in matrimony to God or Local religious deity of the temple. These girls are not allowed to marry, as they were supposedly married to the temple. She ‘serves’ the priests and inmates of the temple, and the Zamindars (local land lords) and other men of money and power, in the town and village. The ‘service’ (read sexual satisfaction) given to these men is considered akin to service of God. The Devadasi is dedicated to the service of the temple Deity for life and there is no escape for her. If she wants to escape, the society will not accept her.

The Devadasi system is still flourishing in parts of India......."
.............................-.....................................

You- might ask why I did bring this while it is a Hindu pracice , and has nothing to do with Buddhaism?.
The reasons are:

First, to show you that prostitution is practiced wildely and openly not only in a Buddhist country, but in a Hindu country, and if you want the truth it is practiced all around the world, and for many thousand years.

Even today goverments all around the world are trying to control this practice mainly for health reason after the spread of AID/HIV, and for seeing this kind of profission as a humiliation for women, all that did not do much change, and the prostitution on the rise in east and the west and mainly in countries were the majorities are Christians, Hindus and Buddhists ,and all that because there is no strict religion laws to prevent it and no laws to punish the men and women who commits adulery.

Prostitution buiseness today can be seen in the open in every city in all around America, Europe, South Africa, the Far East, Australia and so on.
And in hotels/motels/bars, massage parlors, clubs, nude clubs etc.

Second, to show you that only the Islam religion brought laws and severe punishment to those who commits adultry, and that is way you do not see prostitution in the Muslim population in any country [there might be some cases and mostly in secret].

Beside the prostitution, there is ALCOHOLISM that spread all over the world in non-Muslim countries , and it is another problem which had a lot of bad effect on people, in increasing the crimes and destroying families, and it is accepted by those religion, even is used in the place of worship.

ALCOHOL AND CRIME
{This is just a sample}
Alcohol Abuse is a Serious Problem
Alcohol abuse is one of our most serious public health problems. 4.6 million teens have alcohol related problems. The U.S. ranks 20th in the world for per capita alcohol consumption. Americans consume an average of 2.75 gallons per year, per person, 14 years and older. Alcohol abuse is involved in many other health, safety and social problems. Alarming proportions of accidents, crimes, suicides, and incidences of family violence and juvenile delinquency are the result of alcohol abuse by one or more family members. Percentages of social problems related to alcohol abuse are shown in the following data from various Minnesota studies summarized by the Minnesota Prevention Resource Center.

Accidents:
41% of all deaths from falls,
30% of drowning deaths,
25% of boating deaths,
and 45 - 55% of fire fatalities are alcohol related.
Crimes:
55 - 75% of homicide victims and
40% of rape offenders had been drinking at the time of the incident;
50% of those who commit sex abuse crimes also abuse alcohol.
Suicides:
80% of all adolescent suicides have been reported to be children of alcoholic parents.
Family Violence:
In 44 - 70% of the reported cases of battered women, the offender was drunk.
70% of adult women alcoholics were sexually abused as children.
Children of alcoholic parents are twice as likely to develop their own alcohol problems.
Juvenile Delinquency:
82% of adjudicated delinquent adolescents had at least one alcoholic parent.

The US rank # 20 , so there is 19 country which had more problems.

1400 years ago Islam forbid the use of alcohol, and it is the only religion to do that.
V V K, can you see that Islam came with laws to protect people, while other religions did not.
1400 years ago the Islam religion bought the first laws which give the woman their rights to inherit from her parents, and to own properties and to do buisiness, while others did not.

From "Wikipedia"
IN ISLAM:
The Qur'an, revealed to Muhammad over the course of 23 years, provide guidance to the Islamic community and modified existing customs in Arab society. From 610 and 661, known as the early reforms under Islam, the Qur'an introduced fundamental reforms to customary law and introduced rights for women in marriage, divorce and inheritance. By providing that the wife, not her family, would receive a dowry from the husband, which she could administer as her personal property, the Qur'an made women a legal party to the marriage contract.[citation needed]

While in customary law inheritance was limited to male descendents, the Qur'an introduced rules on inheritance with certain fixed shares being distributed to designated heirs, first to the nearest female relatives and then the nearest male relatives.[17] According to Annemarie Schimmel "compared to the pre-Islamic position of women, Islamic legislation meant an enormous progress; the woman has the right, at least according to the letter of the law, to administer the wealth she has brought into the family or has earned by her own work."[18]

The general improvement of the status of Arab women included prohibition of female infanticide and recognizing women's full personhood.[19] Women were generally given greater rights than women in pre-Islamic Arabia[20][21] and medieval Europe.[22] Women were not accorded with such legal status in other cultures until centuries later.[23] According to Professor William Montgomery Watt, when seen in such historical context, Muhammad "can be seen as a figure who testified on behalf of women’s rights."

IN JEWDAISM:
In the Hebrew Scriptures, women were generally viewed in a negative light. Women were considered inferior to men.

tHE creation story, (Genesis 2:7) God formed only a man: "...the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Realizing that he needed a helper (Genesis 2:18), God marched all of the animals past Adam (Genesis 2:19-20) looking for a suitable animal. Finding none suitable, GOD CREATED EVE OUT OF ONE OF ADAM'S RIBS *
* {That is what you V V K claimed wrongly to Islam}.
The term "helper" has historically been interpreted as implying an inferior role for EVE.

Genesis 3:16: Adam's role is to be Eve's master. The King James Version (KJV), New International Version (NIV), and Revised Standard Version (RSV) use the term "rule" to describe Adam's role over Eve: "...thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee."

Exodus 21:7: "And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do." A father could sell his daughter as a slave. Even though a male slave is automatically given his freedom after 6 years, a female slave remained a slave forever.

IN CHRISTIANITY:

St. Tertullian (about 155 to 225 CE):

"Do you not know that you are each an Eve? The sentence of God on this sex of yours lives in this age: the guilt must of necessity live too. You are the Devil's gateway: You are the unsealer of the forbidden tree: You are the first deserter of the divine law: You are she who persuaded him whom the devil was not valiant enough to attack. You destroyed so easily God's image, man. On account of your desert even the Son of God had to die." 1,2

St. Augustine of Hippo (354 to 430 CE). He wrote to a friend:

"What is the difference whether it is in a wife or a mother, it is still Eve the temptress that we must beware of in any woman......I fail to see what use woman can be to man, if one excludes the function of bearing children." 10

St. Thomas Aquinas (1225 to 1274 CE):

"As regards the individual nature, woman is defective and misbegotten, for the active force in the male seed tends to the production of a perfect likeness in the masculine sex; while the production of woman comes from a defect in the active force or from some material indisposition, or even from some external influence."
Martin Luther (1483 to 1546):

"If they [women] become tired or even die, that does not matter. Let them die in childbirth, that's why they are there." 9

On the other side , in the 12th century Christian Europe , after many centuries from Islam, the women still treated badly.

The Middle Ages, According to English Common Law, which developed from the 12th Century onward, all property which a wife held at the time of a marriage became a possession of her husband. Eventually English courts forbade a husband's transferring property without the consent of his wife, but he still retained the right to manage it and to receive the money which it produced. French married women suffered from restrictions on their legal capacity which were removed only in 1965.

IN MY NEXT POST, I WILL BRING HOW THE WOMEN GOT THEIR RIGHT.

I wish you all the best V V K.

you state that:
1400 years ago Islam forbid the use of alcohol, and it is the only religion to do that.
V V K, can you see that Islam came with laws to protect people, while other religions did not.
please read below some in Buddhism which relate to your post and a part of it to Islam
The Brahma Net Sutra translated by Kumarajiva (circa 400 AD) has a list of ten major and forty-eight minor Bodhisattva vows. The ten major vows are as follows:
.........
2.A disciple of the Buddha must not himself steal or encourage others to steal, steal by expedient means, steal by means of incantation or deviant mantras. He should not create the causes, conditions, methods, or karma of stealing. No valuables or possessions, even those belonging to ghosts and spirits or thieves and robbers, be they as small as a needle or blade of grass, may be stolen. As a Buddha's disciple, he ought to have a mind of mercy, compassion, and filial piety -- always helping people earn merits and achieve happiness. If instead, he steals the possessions of others, he commits a Parajika offense. (26)
3.A disciple of the Buddha must not engage in licentious acts or encourage others to do so. [As a monk] he should not have sexual relations with any female -- be she a human, animal, deity or spirit -- nor create the causes, conditions, methods, or karma of such misconduct. Indeed, he must not engage in improper sexual conduct with anyone. (27) A Buddha's disciple ought to have a mind of filial piety -- rescuing all sentient beings and instructing them in the Dharma of purity and chastity. If instead, he lacks compassion and encourages others to engage in sexual relations promiscuously, including with animals and even their mothers, daughters, sisters, or other close relatives, he commits a Parajika offense. (28)
5.A disciple of the Buddha must not trade in alcoholic beverages or encourage others to do so. He should not create the causes, conditions, methods, or karma of selling any intoxicant whatsoever, for intoxicants are the causes and conditions of all kinds of offenses. As a Buddha's disciple, he ought to help all sentient beings achieve clear wisdom. If instead, he causes them to have upside-down, topsy-turvy thinking, he commits a Parajika offense. (30)
I hope it's help you to understand a little more about Buddhism,
you have a nice week end. Sam

A: Hi V V K,

I do not know the reason, and even INDIE hardly visit this site, while she was very active, and we share alot of our thoughts, and I do miss her.
I think Indie she might be able to find out the reason. I do believe that she is better than me in dealing with things as this.

NOW, LET ME BRING MY FINDINGS ABOUT WOMEN IN ISLAM.

And, let us see what Islam say about WOMEN:

To start, let me ask these questions:

“WHO CAN REALLY REPRESENT THE WOMEN ?. IS THAT SUPPOSE TO BE THE MOTHER WHO GIVE THE BIRTH TO ALL.”
“WHO CAN REALLY REPRESENT THE MEN ?. IS THAT SUPPOSE TO BE THE FATHER WHO GIVE THE SEED FOR OUR EXISTENCE .”

The prophet Muhammad was asked by a follower, “Whom we should give my love first , to the Mother or the Father ?. The prophet reply, “YOUR MOTHER”, and the man repeated his question, and the answer was , “YOUR MOTHER”, and the man repeated his question for the third time and The Prophet answer was , “YOUR MOTHER THEN YOUR FATHER”

V V K, You might ask me to give the Hadith number & the name, and my answer will be that I don’t have the book but I will try to find it later on.
But I think you are much better than me in finding information from the NET., since you brought a lot of HADITH, so I will be glad if you help me this time, and many thanks in advance.

You might say after I present the Quran sayings about the Mother and the Women , that Buddha had a woman disciple, or Jesus mother regarded very highly, but this is not the same, talking about one or two women not the same as talking about the women in general [all women]., I will explain this at the end of this post.

THE MOTHER, THE WOMAN IN THE QURAN:

Q- 2:83 ..... “Do not worship except Allah [God] ; AND TO PARENTS * DO GOOD and to relatives, orphans, and the needy.

Q-2:180 Prescribed for you when death approaches any one of you if he leaves wealth [is that he should make] A BEQUEST FOR THE PARENTS *, and near relatives according to what is acceptable, a duty upon the righteous.

Q- 17:23/24 And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except HIM , AND TO PARENTS *, GOOD TREATMENT. WHETHER ONE OR BOTH OF THEM REACH OLD AGE WHILE WITH YOU, SAY NOT TO THEM [SO MUCH AS] , “UFF,” {an expression of disapproval or irritation} AND DO NOT REPEL THEM BUT SPEAK TO THEM A NOBLE WORD.
AND LOWER TO THEM THE WING OF HUMILITY OUT OF MERCY AND SAY, “MY LORD , HAVE MERCY UPON THEM AS THEY BROUGHT ME UP [WHEN I WAS] SMALL.

Q- 31:14 AND WE HAVE ENJOINED UPON MAN [CARE] FOR HIS PARENTS *. HIS MOTHER CARRIED HIM, IN WEAKNESS UPON WEAKNESS, AND HIS WEANING IS IN TWO YEARS. BE GRATEFUL TO ME AND TO YOUR PARENTS; TO ME IS THE FINAL DESTINATION.

Q- 29:8 AND WE HAVE ENJOINED UPON MAN GOODNESS TO PARENTS *. But if they endeavor to make you associate with ME that of which have no knowledge , do not obey them. To me is your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do.

* PARENTS, PARENTS, PARENTS,
PARENTS ARE THE FATHER AND THE MOTHER, MAN AND WOMAN , SIDE BY SIDE, AND THEY ARE EQUAL IN THE SIGHT OF GOD.
GOD ASK THE PEOPLE , “AND TO PARENTS DO GOOD”, “AND TO PARENTS GOOD TREATMENT”, “CARE FOR PARENTS” .

V V K, Is there any other religion on earth which brought such a noble teachings ?.
- In Buddhism, we know that Buddha left his parents, and even his own child and never return to them or care for them. If I am wrong let me know.

- In Christianity, we learn this from the Gospels:
Mat.-13:47- 50
....Someone said to Him [Jesus], “your mother and your brothers are standing outside seeking to speak to you”
Jesus answered......”WHO IS MY MOTHER AND WHO ARE MY BROTHERS?”
......MY MOTHER AND MY BROTHERS FOR WHOEVER DOES THE WILL OF MY FATHER [GOD] WHO IS IN HEAVEN.....

Mat.-10: 34-36
“Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; ....”
“FOR I CAME TO SET MAN AGAINST HIS FATHER, AND A DAUGHTER AGAINST HER MOTHER.....”
“AND A MAN’S ENEMIES WILL BE THE MEMBERS OF HIS HOUSEHOLD.

{As for me, I do not think that those are Jesus words, that is if we look at all His teachings during His life. The Gospels are full of contradictions and errors and lies. But the churches created their own teachings. Jesus said about His mother Mary , “WHO IS MY MOTHER ?” and the churches said, “MARY IS THE MOTHER OF GOD”, and they worship her.

Q- 9:71 THE BELIEVING MEN AND BELIEVING WOMEN ARE ALLIES OF ONE ANOTHER. They enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong....

{ Here, the man and woman together, and side by side, to enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong. Is that what the people should do?.}

Q- 42:49 To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth; HE CREATES WHAT HE WILLS. HE GIVES TO WHOM HE WILLS FEMALE [children] , AND HE GIVES TO WHOM HE WILLS MALES [children]

{ Here, we see the truth that we have no power in choosing the gender of our children, male or female. Of course we will accept them , boys or girls, and we as PARENTS should give them both the same love and care, BECAUSE THEY WILL BE THE MEN AN THE WOMEN, AND THE PARENTS OF THE FUTURE GENERATIONS. }

Q-4:128 And if a woman fears from her husband contempt or evasion, there is no sin upon them if they make terms of settlement between them , and settlement is best.

{We all know what the marriage holds, and if the husband done wrongs, then the wife is given the right to bring her terms to her husband , and always a settlement is better for both of them and for their children if they had any. As I know, I do not think any other religion brought such a teaching. }

In my next post, I will bring the right of the women to inherit .

Take care.

A: Hello Sam
How are you doing. Thank a lot for your post. Great teaching from Quran to parent, I will be back later for those. now just give you the brief of history about Buddha family as your requested:
- In Buddhism, we know that Buddha left his parents, and even his own child and never return to them or care for them. If I am wrong let me know.
The Buddha was born into a family of the kshatriya varna in what is now Nepal in 562 BCE. His father was King Suddhodana, Leader of the Sakya clan in what was the growing state of Kosala, and his mother was Queen Maya. He was raised by his mother's younger sister Maha Pajapati after his mother's death seven days after childbirth.
... Gautama returned to his father's kingdom where he preached dharma to him. Gautama later returned again to his father's kingdom to see his father's death. Suddhodana became an arahant.[1]
Maya was the mother of the Buddha.Maya died seven days after the birth of her son, whom she had named Siddhartha or "he who achieves his aim." She is said, in Buddhist scriptures, to have been reborn in Tusita, where her son later visited her, paid respects and taught the dharma to her.[2]

(Tuṣita (Sanskrit) or Tusita (Pāli) is one of the six deva-worlds of the Kāmadhātu, located between the Yāma heaven and the Nirmāṇarati heaven. Like the other heavens, Tuṣita is said to be reachable through meditation. Like all heaven realms in Buddhism, the Tuṣita Heaven is the residence of divine beings or devas. According to an excerpt of the Pali Canon,[1] a Theravada Buddhist text, time runs much differently than on Earth
That which among men is four hundred years, Visakha, is one night and day of the Tusita devas, their month has thirty of those days, their year twelve of those months; the lifespan of the Tusita devas is four thousand of those heavenly years..."
Tuṣita is part of the same world-system as Earth, and so is relatively close, whereas the Pure Land of Amitabha Buddha is treated as a separate world-system entirely.)
Mahāpajābatī Gotamī was the first woman to request ordination from the Buddha and to join the Saṅgha.[1] She was both the Buddha's maternal aunt and adoptive mother,[1] raising him after her sister, Queen Maya (Mahāmāyā), the Buddha's birth mother, died.
FORMER WIFE
The Princess Yasodhara was great assistance in helping Him win Enlightenment. Princess Yasodhara entered the Nuns Order and later became an enlightened arhat. She predeceased the Buddha.
THE SON
Little Prince Rahula, seven years old, was sent by the Princess to ask for his inheritance. The Buddha, knowing of no other "inheritance" as matchless as the Truth, told Rahula He did not have gold and silver to give him, but asked if he were willing to receive spiritual treasures and whether he was strong enough to carry and keep them. Rahula replied with firmness that he was ready to be a novice monk. The Blessed One asked the Venerable Sariputta to ordain him. . The Venerable Rahula was known for his humility and his desire for spiritual learning. The Venerable Rahula predeceased the Buddha.
