Hello, guest
Name: Mark-Tao  •  Title: What to keep? What to throw out?  •  Date posted: 02/28/07 17:31
Q: If all the far fetched stories of the bible were proven to be fairy tales, would people still believe in love?

Does our faith in mercy and the value of selfless acts lose any of it's meaning removed from creeds and arguments over miracles?

Is not love the greatest miracle?

You could prove every miracle to be false, and I would still believe in the power of love. Isn't that enough? Isn't that the spiritual salvation every human being requires?

How many times in the Gospels does Jesus turn people from their conflicts over religion toward simple examples of love and mercy?

I say throw out all the creeds and arguments over miracles. Just keep the message of love. The cross is a message of mercy in the face of evil. Let's not complicate it with terf wars over theologies we cannot prove.

A: The story has power no matter it's providence.

A: THE CROSS WAS A TORTURE DEVISE!!!! Where is there love ??? If you were killed on train tracks, would YOU WANT to be reminded of it EVERYDAY?!!! C'mon now! Besides, you're not to worship any images...ANY IMAGES!!!!

A: Osirius608, the message of love comes from the fact that Jesus forgave his killers while he hung on the cross. It's not what was done to him, but how he responded to it that reveals his mercy.

My only point is that love and mercy will always be good ideas, no matter what the facts are.

Mark Tao:

Not only did he forgive his killers, but Jesus also promised one of two guys crucified beside him that he would be with him that day into paradise.
To me I guess he got resurrected too. Either a spiritual body of some sort or of some sort of scientific cloned body?
The body is just a house a vehicule tool.

Perhaps there is a scientific way to live eternally by changing bodies. Things not even imaginable and thinkable 100 years ago are a reality today.

Let us not forget that in the plan and as stated Jesus just prior to his crucifixion met Elijah and Moses who both reappeared and who had been dead gone hundreds years later to discuss Jesus upcoming ordeal and death.

What was did all about. coaching Jesus?

Since Moses had died had been lifted by God into space and buried in an unknown place here he comes back in full force as the same Moses.
He too must have been resurrected in some sort of scientific way since bodies are all made of molecules and atoms.
Was he coaching Jesus with Elijah and telling him that it would not be so bad.? And that both were there to help.

The come back of Elijah that had been taken in a heavenly vehicle fire chariot and who had never died on earth too was part of the plan and discussion with Jesus death.

Perhaps there is a more scientific explanation of what went on than the bible can describe and the mssing link.

Just like today when we send someone to the gas chamber or hang the story seem attract and last for ever.

To me Jesus staged role was to enforce love compassion to humanity and also to show that after death there is life and not to fear.

Doesn’t he say............. Don’t you know that ye are Gods.

And does not God say in the bible unless we stop the stretch of Adam and Eve to attain the knowledge of good and evil that is in the center of the garden …………their eyes will be open and they will become like US meaning Gods too ?.

Also Ezekiel saw a whole army being resurrected from dead dry bones…..

Ezekiel XXXVII 3/7/8/10 in the King James Bibal

Yahweh biblical God flew ( in Spirit ) to a certain place Ezekiel.

There Ezekiel watched God performed with at lot of scientific knowledge the recreations of flesh and life on the dead bones of an entire Israel army.

Did God do the same with Jesus DNA cells and recreated or cloned him back very fast?

It is my experience that in each religion there are people who get their life force from the Scriptures of their religion.

Writings that give life to human beings are worth noticing.

A song that is part of my soul is "This Is One Of Those Moments".
In the story of a girl called Yentl, a young woman cuts her hair and pretends to be a boy so that she can study the Scriptures of her father's faith.

I wish to share with this forum the words of this song ,
the song called "This Is One Of Those Moments".

The song describes the joy Yentl feels as she enters the school where she will be able to study the Scriptures.

When I returned from Palestine to Canada at the end of the summer of 1980, I had finished all the Old Testament exegesis courses.
It was time for me to begin exegesis courses on the books of the New Testament.

As I walked from home to the University on that first morning, I was crying.
I was so happy to be able to continue my studies.

I am pasting the words to the song below.

..............-......................................THI-S- IS ONE OF THOSE MOMENTS

There are moments you remember all your life.
There are moments you wait for ans1 dream,
Of all your life.
This is one of those moments.

I will always remember this chair,
that window, the way the light streams in.
The clothes I'm wearing,
The words I'm heating,
The face I'm seeing,
The feeling I'm feeling,

The smell, the sounds, will be written
On my mind, will be written in my heart
As long as I live!

I can, travel the past and take what I need
To see me through the years
What my father learned and his
Father before him will be there
For my eyes and ears.

I can walk through the forests
Of the trees of knowledge
And listen to the lessons of the leaves.

I can enter rooms
Were there are rooms within rooms
Wrapped in the shawl that learning weaves.

I remember, Papa-everything you taught me
What you gave me, Papa-
Look at what it’s brought me

There are certain things that once you have
No man can take away-
No wave can wash away-
No wind can blow away-
And now they’re about to be mine!

No tide can turn away-
No fire can burn away-
No time can wear away...

I can open doors and take from the shelves
All the books I’ve longed to hold
I can ask all the questions,
The whys and the wheres
As the mysteries of life unfold

Like a link in a chain
From the past to the future
That joins me with the children yet to be,
I can now be a part
Of the ongoing stream,
That has always been a part of me!

There are certain things that once you have
No man can rake away-
No wave can wash away-
No wind can blow away-
No tide can turn away-
No fire can burn away-
No time can wear away-

And now they’re about to be mine!

There are moments you remember all your life.

There are moments you wait for
And dream, of all your life.

This is one of those

moments!
