A: Perhaps the film maker felt there is enough intelligent viewers out here that are capable of thinking for themselves and coming to the conclusion that the stories of past are unbelievable at best!!???

Hello Kalianamx.
Latin America is the most Catholic place on earth at the moment.
The nature of faith in Latin America now in 2008 is not unlike the
nature of faith as it was in French Quebec, Canada in the 1950s.
I think this movie would have been hard for Quebec French-Canadians to take were we to have been presented with this film in 1955.
In a culture unaccustomed to any scientific text analysis of Sacred Text,
this movie is not easy to take in. If someone were to try to explain from new principle of physics to me, they'd need to go back and explain some elementary principles first.
I think that on the whole, Catholic Latin America has not had much exposure to Biblical text analysis. I wonder if the decision to let the impact of this movie sink in a little in cultures that are more familiar with text analysis might not have been a wise decision.
In the press conference (you can watch in on the Discovery Channel web site), James Cameron and Simcha Jacobovici both, in their words, show only respect for the faith of the common man.
They do not say that their wish is to upset the belief system of the common man. Obviously, they see how their movie can change how we believe, but neither of them say their goal is to undo faith.
In fact, during the press conference one can view on the Discovery Channel web site, Jacobovici's unveiling of the bone boxes shows his reverence for the ancient beings who lived and walked the rocky land of Palestine 2000 years ago.
